On Dance & singingThe body is a musical instrument, like a violin, reed, or drum. Dance is a tool to tune the keys, open the passageways, loosen the skin, or tighten it. The work is to prepare the body to express and channel creative energy. To dance is to simply allow the body to move the way it wants to: Serpentine movements or sudden outbursts like a flock of birds, whirling drumming, stomping, standing still; dancing to poetry, to silence ... creative spirit flow.
The body is a musical instrument; its strings are brushed by the fingers of creation. When aligned, its cords tune to the distant echo of eternity. To sing is to simply open the throat, allowing sound to come out from one's depth. Telling a story with or without words, singing is allowing the soul to speak, feeling it vibrate through every cell of the body.
