Aat Celebrates International Women’s Day

Multi-Disciplinary Performances & Cultural Events

March 2010 Calendar:

  • 3/3: "Voices in the Gallery" Nabad Gallery. Art exhibit by 8 emerging artists & live performances by Dima Bawab, Lana Naseer, Nadine Shahwan, and Irada Ibrahimov.
  • 8&9/3: "Taman Banat" Co-produced by Al-Balad Theatre: Multi-disciplinary performance including installation art, dance, singing, acting, and sound. A celebration of women’s creative self expression.  8pm
  • 13/3: Interactive session for young women audience members in Zarqa Youth center, vignettes followed by discussion. 11-2pm
  • 13/3: Makan Gallery. Poetry reading salon (open-mike). 7 pm
  • My Box of Dreams project: facilitating the creation of a mural for UNRWA school in Jabal Amman to beautify their school environment- in collaboration with START

"Aat" comes from the Arabic alef and taa. Aat comes at the end of plural nouns and renders them feminine
