Workshops
March 7-12th: "Language of Gesture" by visiting Artist From Algeria Taous Khazem
The workshop teaches actors to create theatre with just their body, voice and imagination. The style teaches use of space, rhythm in action, theatricality in movement and collective theatre creation. http://www.darajatheatre.com/taousbio.html
March 21-23: "Unfolding Stories" by Dr. Fadi Skeiker, founder of Amman Theatre Lab.
This workshop uses theatre techniques such as action theatre, bio-mechanic, physical theatre, and dream work as tools to improvise stories with the participants. The improvisation process will focus on generating stories about womanhood and/ or how we perceive it. There will be a sharing with the public by the end of this workshop. www.fadiskeiker.com
Community Outreach
12 March: Community event for girls from Gaza refugee Camp in Jarash & Al-Ghore in the Jordan Valley, facilitated by Lana Nasser.
After complete ting a workshop in their community (on empowerment through storytelling and mask-making) the participants performed their stories to an all women audience at AlBalad Theatre, Amman, with a motivational talk by Ms. Rabiha Dabbas, the first woman Governor in the Arab world.
